However, I've noticed as the years go by, with a little help from friends and a lot of help from the numerous clothes and cuts on the runways due to my job, my sense for picking things up has changed. Maybe its an age thing, or maybe its an environment thing, does anyone feel that their personal style has changed over the years? That maybe mentally restrictions have broken down?
I was never clueless about fashion, having devoured every single magazine that was allowed to the country but some only a watered down simplistic style came down to the wardrobe. As I began working a stylist I began noticing little gems that no one would give a second glance or buying outrageous things such as my Melissa Vivienne Westwood shoes which I absolutely adore!!
The point being is that everyone has a particular style don't they?.. A thing you can pick out in a store thats very YOU, but since a while I've become this chameleon where I'm willing to try any style and I love being that person, where I maybe preppy one day and maybe Parsienne chic another. My challenge to you is this.. Break out of your comfort zone, try on that outrageous sequinned shift you've been eyeing or even try a new make-up look.
I love the feeling that I get as I try on a "new" look, maybe a new lip tint or a new lipstick or even wearing my trusted leggings with a twist. You needn't buy another wardrobe of new styles, but try on something you usually wouldn't and you might be surprised!
Because while I may love my Audrey Hepburn/ Blair Waldorf looks i realise now that just may sometimes I want a little bit of Beyonce/Serena Van Der Woodsen to come out and play :)
